Fixing Ourselves Is Simpler Than It Seems
You're not as broken as you think you are
Do you want to know how to be fixed? Great.
First, be obsessively judgmental about yourself. Really drive the knife in on every little detail you can find. Twist that thing on nerves that pinpoint all your insecurities. Make sure nothing’s left unscrutinized.
You did that? Awesome. Congrats! You are now “broken” and are a wonderful candidate for being “fixed”. Now you can begin the never-ending journey of correcting everything that was never wrong in the first place.
That’s what really annoys me about “fixing” ourselves. We pick things we want to cut off, instead of accepting them and healing them. Inherently, we are how we are. Not good or bad, we just are. The only fixing to do doesn’t come from comparisons or judgements. It’s in doing what makes us feel brighter and healthier instead of what makes us feel like crap.
Here’s the big secret guru’s won’t ever tell you. Do what feeds your soul, stop beating yourself up about it, and you’re fixed. It’s really way more simple than it’s been made out to be. However, people have systems to sell you and so you’ll never get an easy answer from them.
Look within for healing, not fixing. Your answer is in there. Not out there. Not even in this article. I’m not telling you how to live. I’m pointing at your chest, inviting you to look within for the answers. Because that’s the only place you’ll find the one that fits you.
If you enjoyed this piece and would like to support my work with a tip, here’s a simple way to do that.
